Blog commit0f9e8b9 / Defer app platform operator batch

Decision

The user clarified that the next batch previously listed as:

OP-GF-OPERATORS-24: Batch 4 application platform - Open Liberty and app-facing CloudNativePG

is not needed now.

Decision:

ItemState
Open Liberty OperatorDeferred
App-facing CloudNativePG packageDeferred
Active next operator install batchNone selected
Future reintroductionRequires an explicit app-platform onboarding issue

Scope Boundary

This was a planning-only decision. No live systems were touched. No cluster checks, remediations, GitOps syncs, Subscriptions, operands, image mirror sets, routes, DNS records, HAProxy changes, or secrets were changed for this deferral.

Follow-up Requirement

If Open Liberty or app-facing CloudNativePG returns to scope later, create a new explicit app-platform onboarding issue that covers:

AreaRequired decision
Tenant ownershipWhich application team or namespace owns the platform.
Backup/restoreWhat data is protected, where backups go, and how restore is validated.
Image supplyWhich image sources and mirror mappings are required.
Security postureRHACS policy expectations and exceptions.
Runtime scopeWhether the work is operator-only or includes operands and sample apps.

Until then, do not present Open Liberty or app-facing CloudNativePG as the next active operator batch.
